Starting to say farewell

We took a class picture today to put in a thank you card for Srta. Santiago. It's hard to say goodbye!

The tenth to last day of school the kids got a surprise from the teacher...little pill-like things that when placed in hot water transform into an animal.

Feliz dia de mama!

We had our beautiful celebration of mothers on Friday and the kids worked hard on the preparations. We home that all the moms enjoyed the celebration and had a great Mother's day!

My book day!

My book day finally came and was a great success. The students listened to police officers, soldiers, and other volunteers read past my book day books, signed their very own library card, and watched a skit on the background of My Book Day before receiving their very own book as a great reward for learning how to read! I hope they read their book at home until its all worn out!

Dia de los ninos party

The kids had a great time during the fiesta. They played beach ball volleyball, made a craft, played bean bag toss, and got their faces painted!

Mealworms!

The kids are studying mealworms in science class and discovered that they turn into beetles!

Visiting the EP library

The kids listened to a story and learned all about the library and my book day.

A trip to the nature center

On our field trip to the nature center the students were studying leaves, plants and insects before learning all about maple syrup. Later they got to eat a picnic outside and play in the giant playground before heading back to school.

Rainbow order!

The kids were playing their morning meeting game called "Put yourselves in order by..." and they had to do their shirt color in rainbow order!
